Itinerary

Day 1 – Matatirtha to Chitlang via Chandragiri

Starting your adventure from the Matatirtha trailhead, you will lace up your boots and begin a long, energizing climb up the valley slopes along a path that winds steadily uphill through cool oak and rhododendron canopy. Moving upward, you reach the summit of Chandragiri Hill at 2,551 meters, taking time to soak in 360-degree views of the mountain range, visit the Bhaleshwor Mahadev temple, and grab lunch with a view. After enjoying the top, you begin the steep downhill trek along historic stone trails towards the Chitlang plateau, moving through terraced fields and quiet villages until arriving at your Chitlang homestay to spend the late afternoon exploring the village, visiting local goat cheese factories, or relaxing by an evening campfire.

Day 2 – Chitlang to Kulekhani / Drive Back to Kathmandu

After fueling up with breakfast, you depart Chitlang to head south through peaceful rural dirt tracks, rolling farmlands, and small traditional settlements. Continuing down the trail, you cross the finish line at the shores of Indra Sarovar in Kulekhani, wrapping up the adventure with a fresh fish lunch by the lake and optional boating before taking a jeep back to Kathmandu.

Please allow 1 hour to reach Lamatar, and 1 hour for the return journey to your hotel after the hike from Suryabinayak.
