Kaule ➔ Kakani Viewpoint ➔ Kaule
Our guide meets you in the lobby of your hotel in Kathmandu for a brief introduction and bag check. A private vehicle then transports us north out of the valley along the winding Pasang Lhamu Highway.
Vehicle transport finishes near the Kaule junction. The fresh hill air greets us as we organize daypacks, tie boots, and prepare for our walk along the ridge.
Footwork begins along a wide dirt track bordered by tall pine trees and local farm plots. The trail ascends very gradually, winding through quiet Tamang hamlets where local farmers tend to famous strawberry crops. Fresh mountain breezes filter through the tree canopy, keeping the walk cool and comfortable throughout the morning.
We step out onto the crest of Kakani Hill at 2,073 meters. An incredible Himalayan panorama unfolds before us, highlighting the impressive white peaks of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang ranges. Time is spent exploring the quiet Thai Memorial Park, taking photographs of the northern mountains, and sitting on the open lawns with hot tea and snacks.
Retracing our steps along the peaceful ridge trail brings us back toward our starting point. The downward slope requires minimal effort, allowing ample opportunity to observe local bird life and chat with friendly villagers along the path.
Our foot journey finishes right back at the Kaule highway junction. A brief pause lets us rest while private transport prepares for the return drive into the valley.
Boarding our private vehicle, we enjoy a smooth drive back down the winding hill roads toward the capital city.
Our driver delivers you safely back to your accommodation. You return with plenty of afternoon time left to unwind and process the morning's mountain views.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
